CHARCOAL GRILL CARE

To keep the bottom of a charcoal grill clean and damage proof, pour an even layer of unscented kitty litter in the bottom of the grill. This will insulate the metal bottom from the heat and absorb grease and drippings.

GAS OR CHARCOAL GRILL CARE

Grill racks get to a point that a wire brush just isn't enough. Try this....when the racks are cool, place them in a trash bag and spray them thoroughly with oven cleaner. Seal the bag closed and let sit outside overnight. The next day, using rubber gloves, remove the grill from the bag, dispose of the bag and rinse the rack thoroughly. You might need to brush the rack a little but it shouldn't take much effort.

ROCKS FOR FIREPITS & CHIMINEAS

Did you know that if natural rock gets too hot it can explode? Be sure to use fireproof stones, lava rock, glass or steel in your firepits and chimineas.

CLEAN GREASE OR OIL OFF CONCRETE

To clean old grease or oil stains from concrete, pour enough Coca-Cola over the stain to saturate it. Let sit for 30 minutes then rinse clean. Repeat if necessary.....and just think, we drink this stuff.

CARING FOR BAMBOO STRUCTURES & ACCESSORIES

Clean your bamboo with a mild detergent. If black spots from mold have appeared, wipe them off with diluted bleach or Clorox Cleanup.

If your bamboo is starting to look dryed and discolored, wipe it with a soft cloth coated with Linseed Oil. This is a slow drying liquid extracted from flax seed with good preservative properties and it is also water resistant.

TICK REMOVAL

To easily remove a tick from you or your pet, put a generous portion of liquid soap on a cotton ball. Completely saturate the tick with the soap. Wait approximately one minute. The tick should completely let go. The soap sufficates them so they back out trying to breath.

REMOVE SAP

If you've ever touched a pine tree you know how hard it is to get the sap off of your hands. Here are two different ways to remove it: 1) Put Vaseline on the sticky area, rub well, then wash off with dish detergent. 2) Rub with moist Non-Fat Dry Milk and rinse. I know that 2nd one sounds crazy, but it works.

HOW TO CLEAN A COOLER

Wash it thoroughly with warm soapy water and rinse well. Most food stains will come off by rubbing with baking soda paste. To get rid of odors, moisten a paper towel with vanilla extract and wipe inside of cooler.

DRIED FOOD IN THE MICROWAVE

If you have dried food splattered in your microwave, set a small bowl of water in it and run it for 3 minutes. Let set for 10-15 minutes and the food will just wipe off with no scrubbing.
